Well we're definitely not golf pros, but we do love to try new things. Our team was invited by RBC Insurance to take part in one of their golf tournaments at the Knollwood Gold Club. It was a beautiful sunny day, and we even had the chance to learn from golf pro, Blair Hamilton...after we figured out how to drive a golf cart that is.
Junior Achievement Dollars and Sense Program on Friday, May 31, 2019
We had the privilege of teaming up with JA to teach financial literacy to a group of grade 7s at Holy Family Cathlic Elementary School in Bowmanville. The students learned about different currency, creating budgets, credit, and even a little bit about the stock market. It was a blast playing games with them and teaching them a bit about the real world.

We had a blast at the Better Business Expo in Hamilton! The perks from all the networking aside, it's a great place for business owners to shop for business solutions. And it wasn't just your average tradeshow! There were speakers and workshops available for all who came out. Another bonus? They put several shows on each year and yes, we plan on being there!
Launch of Global Compact Network Canada's SDGs Emerging Practice Guide on Wednesday, May 22, 2019
In 2015, all UN Member States adopted The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. At its heart are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that work to end poverty and other deprivations by using strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, spur economic growth and tackle climate change to preserve our oceans and forests. We had the privilege of being invited by Her Honour Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, for an evening of learning and inspiration on current practices from the private sector on integrating SDGs.

We have had the chance to interact with several of the businesses that attend the CSBW workshops and seminars. Our team was able to attend a seminar in beautiful Niagara-On-The-Lake and network with several small business owners. We are always so encouraged and inspired by others' hustle! You can learn more about the CSBW here.

In early May, Facebook Canada launched its Civic Boost tour, making stops across the country. We had the privilege of attending the event in Oshawa and had the opportunity to learn about how to strategically utilize social media to target specific audiences and boost sales. There are so many ways that business can use social media platforms to create brand awareness. It was great to hear experts and real-life examples of how Facebook and Instagram were able to help business owners grow their companies!
Metamorphosis Girls STEM Conference on Friday, March 8, 2019
Revolution's very own Dilesha Stelmach has a huge passion for getting girls involved in STEM at a young age. She was part of a panel discussion and even ran a couple of workshops. But this is just another ordinary day for Dilesha, who runs her own not-for-profit, Oui STEM Academy, which seeks to transform the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics landscape in order to include girls and children of colour. For more information on the Metamorphosis Conference, you can check out their site here.
